About the event

The 2025 DPGA Baltimore Summer League is underway! Each week, registration will open to Sponsors and League Pass holders the Friday prior to each week's event, and then Weekly Registration opens the Monday prior to each week's event. We will close registration at 5PM the evening prior to each week's event and subsequently issue group assignments. We are capped at 20 spots each week, so be sure to set a reminder to register as soon as you can each week! The league schedule, format, and rules info are below. See you out there!

LEAGUE FORMAT, RULES, LOGISTICS

Format:

- We will be playing Individual Stroke Play with handicaps. We will collect everyone’s handicaps prior to the first event. If you don’t know your handicap, we’ll do our best to assign you an estimated one. Everyone’s handicap will evolve over the season to reflect everyone’s actual league play.

- Everyone will accrue points over the season based on their performance. (Weekly Participation = 100 Points, Weekly 1st Place = 50 Points, Weekly 2nd Place = 40 Points, Weekly 3rd Place = 30 Points, Weekly 4th Place = 20 Points, Weekly 5th Place = 10 Points.) Players with the most accrued points will receive a stroke advantage at the Championship.

Rules:

- Be kind. Have fun. Don’t cheat.

- Gameplay will follow standard USGA Golf Rules with a few differences. These are “good-faith” rules and should be used in the spirit of fairness. Please don’t abuse them.

- Breakfast Ball: Because most of us are all coming directly from work to the tee box with limited or no warmup, everyone is entitled to one “breakfast ball” (or redo/mulligan) on their first swing of the first hole only. This is only meant for out-of-bounds or severely errant shots, not to try and improve a decent drive just because it landed in the rough. If you choose to take a breakfast ball, the second shot must be played (no option to take the first shot instead). No other mulligans are allowed over the course of the round.

- Don’t hurt yourself or your clubs: Free relief will be given from plugs, holes, divots, rocks, concrete, and tree roots. You may pick up, clean, and drop your ball within a club length (no closer to hole) of its original placement without penalty. Again, this is a good-faith curtesy rule, please don’t abuse it just to improve bad lies.

- Maintaining rate of play is critical! Everyone should play “ready golf”. Go straight to your ball, hit when ready and safe to do so.

- Gimme puts within 2.5 feet unless putting for a birdie or better. Must be granted/agreed to by your group before picking it up.

- Max score is a double-par on any given hole. If a hole isn’t going your way, pick it up, take the double-par, and keep the group moving.

- Other than a breakfast ball, no second tee shots. For speed and simplicity, a lost or out-of-bounds shot (beyond white stakes) shall be treated like a hazard shot (beyond red stakes). Drop a new ball about where it was estimated to have been lost or crossed OB/Hazard or in the designated drop zone if available and take 1 penalty stroke. Do not take provisional tee shots.

- Don’t take forever trying to find your ball. Take the drop (1 stroke penalty) and keep the group moving.

- "Gallery Rule": If you hit a shot that clearly landed in the fairway (that your group witnessed) but somehow can't be found when you walk up, you can take a free curtesy drop.

Logistics

- Tee times will be assigned and sent out the day prior to each event. If you have a time conflict and need to request a change your tee-time please let us know ASAP. We will do our best to accommodate, but it is not guaranteed.

- Please arrive as early as possible to each event (at least 15 minutes prior to your tee time). Let us know ASAP if you are going to be late.

- We encourage everyone to walk the course but feel free to purchase a cart (not includeed in league costs) if you cannot, or prefer not to walk.

- White tees are played with the exception of ladies and seniors who will use those respective tees.

- If there is a threat of bad weather, we will do our best to make the decision to cancel as early as possible. Other than the Championship, events that are cancelled due to weather will not be rescheduled.

- Each group will have one official score card and someone from each group will be assigned to take the official scores of the group. All players in the group must validate the official scores before they are handed in at the end of the round.

- When you complete your round, please head straight to the designated restaurant for after-round drinks!

This event has a group. You’re welcome to join the group once you register for the event.
